Hip & Knee

Hips are integral of daily life and movement, from sitting and standing to walking and bending. The hip joint allows for a great deal of motion in a variety of directions. People of all ages and lifestyles are susceptible to many different hip conditions and diseases, with the end result of most conditions being osteoarthritis of the hip joint. The treatment for hip osteoarthritis is hip replacement surgery, replacing diseased and damaged portions of the hip with implants designed to restore function to the hip joint.

Dr. Moore utilizes the Direct Anterior Approach for hip replacement surgery, which allows him to preserve muscle tissue and minimize recovery time.

The knee joint is a system of moving parts containing cartilage, muscles, tendons, and ligaments connecting the upper and lower leg. The hinge of the knee allows us to run, jump, squat, and turn. Because of its inability to rotate in every direction, the knee is vulnerable to a number of injuries and conditions.

Dr. Moore and the staff of Baxter Regional Bone & Joint Clinic have extensive experience in evaluating, diagnosing, and treating hip and knee injuries and conditions. Whether it's a torn meniscus, degenerative osteoarthritis of the hip or knee or rheumatoid arthritis, Dr. Moore is devoted to restoring patients’ mobility and function, initially attempting nonoperative methods before considering a total hip and/or knee replacement.
